Yamaha introduces WXA-70A streaming amp and WXC-70A streamer

Yamaha introduced the compact WXA-70A streaming amplifier and WXC-70A network streamer for European, US and Australian markets on 27 August 2026. The two models each use an ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M DAC and include YPAO room calibration. Yamaha includes a YPAO measurement microphone with each model. UK launch prices are £1,199 for the WXA-70A and £859 for the WXC-70A.

The WXA-70A addresses systems that require built-in speaker amplification. It uses an ICEpower 125ASX2 Class D amplification module. The output rating is 70 W per channel into an 8-ohm load and 105 W per channel into a 4-ohm load. Both figures cover the 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range at 1% total harmonic distortion.

The WXC-70A provides selectable player and preamplifier operating modes. It adds network streaming and digital-to-analogue conversion to an existing audio system. The model provides analogue audio outputs. It also provides digital audio outputs.

Both products provide HDMI eARC/ARC connectivity and support MusicCast, AirPlay 2 and Google Cast. Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect are supported, and both products are Roon Ready. Control4 integration and browser-based setup are included for custom-install applications. The custom-install connection set also provides dedicated infrared control inputs and 12 V trigger connections.

In the United States, launch prices are US$1,300 for the WXA-70A and US$1,000 for the WXC-70A. In Australia, launch prices are AU$1,999 for the WXA-70A and AU$1,599 for the WXC-70A. Both new models are scheduled to become available in November 2026.
