Bluesound introduces redesigned PULSE SUB subwoofer

Bluesound introduced the completely redesigned PULSE SUB wireless powered subwoofer on 27 August 2026. It is intended for use with movies, music, television and games. Its acoustic system pairs two opposed 6.5-inch woofers and is rated at 350W of total system power. Pricing is US$1,099 in the United States, €999 in Europe and £849 in the UK.

The PULSE SUB takes the place of the PULSE SUB+ within Bluesound’s current line of dedicated subwoofer models. The preceding PULSE SUB+ used a single 8-inch drive unit for its low-frequency output. The PULSE SUB+ paired that bass driver with its own 150W amplifier section.

The new PULSE SUB allows its variable crossover frequency to be adjusted through the associated app. Variable phase can also be adjusted through the same app controls. Processing is built around an ARM Cortex-A55 architecture with four processor cores. Each processor core has an operating speed of 1.8GHz.

The PULSE SUB runs BluOS as the operating platform for its networked functions. Wi-Fi 5 provides the wireless network connection for the powered subwoofer. For wired network access, the connection set includes an RJ45 Ethernet interface. A low-level analog input provides a separate physical connection for an incoming analog audio signal.

The enclosure measures 292mm in width from side to side and 330mm in height from base to top. Cabinet depth is 315mm when measured from front to back. The complete PULSE SUB wireless powered subwoofer weighs 10kg. Bluesound has scheduled the PULSE SUB to become available later in 2026.
