Naim launches Uniti Star Lite all-in-one streaming amplifier

Naim Audio has launched the Uniti Star Lite, an all-in-one streaming amplifier that combines network playback, source connectivity and power amplification in a single component. The internal amplifier uses a Class AB design and delivers 70W per channel into an 8-ohm load. Its announced price is £3,199 in the UK and €3,999 in Europe.

The Star Lite’s streaming-focused configuration takes the place of the earlier Uniti Star’s CD mechanism. The streaming section uses Naim’s NP800 card and supports WAV, FLAC, AIFF, ALAC and DSD files. Internet radio is integrated into the platform. Online music service access covers Spotify Connect, TIDAL, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz and Qobuz Connect.

AirPlay 2 and Google Cast provide additional wireless network playback routes into the Star Lite. The network platform also supports UPnP connections and Roon Ready playback. Bluetooth connectivity uses the aptX Adaptive codec for direct wireless audio connections. Party Mode can synchronize playback across as many as six compatible streamers.

The analogue input section provides one stereo RCA connection and one 5-pin DIN connection for external source components. Digital source connections comprise optical TOSLINK, coaxial RCA, coaxial BNC and HDMI ARC. Two USB Type-A ports add further physical connection points. Voice operation is available through Google Assistant and Siri.

The Uniti Star Lite is fitted with a 5-inch colour display. Its chassis measures 95 × 432 × 265mm, and the complete unit weighs 11kg. The Uniti Star Lite is offered in both the UK and Europe.
