Kerr Acoustic’s Compact K400 Loudspeakers Bound to Make

Kerr Acoustic adds K400 loudspeaker to UK Expo lineup

Kerr Acoustic’s two-way K400 stand-mount is its most compact loudspeaker design to date. It uses a transmission-line enclosure with a 150mm wood-fibre low-frequency driver. A 45mm true-ribbon tweeter handles high frequencies. The demonstration is scheduled for Syndicate Room 10 on 12–13 September 2026.

Kerr Acoustic will demonstrate its K400 stand-mount loudspeaker at the two-day UK Expo on 12–13 September 2026. The K400 had already launched before this scheduled September show appearance. The compact speaker uses a two-way driver configuration. Within Kerr Acoustic’s range, it is the company’s most compact loudspeaker design to date.

The transmission-line enclosure is constructed from Baltic birch plywood, using panels in 18mm and 24mm thicknesses. The K400’s low-frequency unit is a 150mm driver built around a wood-fibre cone. The driver incorporates an extended linear suspension system. Its motor follows a patented symmetrical-drive design.

The K400’s high-frequency unit is a 45mm true-ribbon tweeter. Its ribbon diaphragm has a mass of 0.02g. The crossover point between the low-frequency driver and tweeter is set at 1.95kHz. The crossover network applies a second-order slope of 12dB per octave.

Kerr Acoustic rates the complete loudspeaker’s frequency response as extending from 39Hz to 45kHz. Sensitivity is rated at 88dB for a 2.83V input measured at a distance of one metre. The K400 has a nominal impedance of 6 ohms. The speaker input consists of one pair of 4mm copper five-way binding posts for cable connection.

Each K400 cabinet measures 341 × 164 × 310mm and weighs 7.5kg. Kerr Acoustic fits four M8 threaded inserts to the rear of the enclosure. The inserts are intended as attachment points for wall or ceiling suspension. The K400 demonstration is assigned to Syndicate Room 10 during the scheduled UK Expo.
