McIntosh launches CS7500 two-channel streaming preamplifier
McIntosh has launched the CS7500 as a two-channel solid-state preamplifier with integrated network playback. Its stated frequency response is +0/-0.5dB from 20Hz to 20kHz. Extended response reaches +0/-3dB from 15Hz to 100kHz.

McIntosh has introduced the CS7500, a two-channel solid-state streaming preamplifier. Its digital section is built around a Quad Balanced eight-channel DAC architecture. Over USB, the CS7500 accepts PCM at resolutions up to 32-bit/384kHz and DXD at sample rates of 352.8kHz or 384kHz. Total harmonic distortion is 0.005%, and the high-level signal-to-noise ratio is 100dB.
For analog sources, the CS7500 provides two balanced line inputs and three unbalanced line inputs. A separate phono connection can be configured for either moving-coil or moving-magnet cartridges. The digital input bank includes two coaxial connections and two optical connections. The CS7500 also has one MCT input, one USB input and one HDMI ARC connection.
Network playback includes Apple AirPlay and Google Cast. Direct service access covers Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect. The preamplifier is both Roon Ready and Roon Tested. Its Bluetooth receiver supports AAC, Qualcomm aptX HD and Qualcomm aptX Adaptive codecs.
The output section provides two pairs of balanced variable connections and two pairs of unbalanced variable connections. The second variable-output sets can be configured for either one or two subwoofers. A separate pair of unbalanced outputs operates at fixed level, and the CS7500 also has a 1/4-inch High Drive headphone output. Maximum output is 16V RMS through the balanced connections and 8V RMS through the unbalanced connections.
The chassis measures 17.5 x 6 x 17 inches and weighs 25 lb. Power consumption is 30 watts when the unit is switched on. The McIntosh CS7500 became available through authorized McIntosh dealers on 26 August 2026.
