Teufel launches ULTIMA 25 AKTIV 2 active bookshelf speakers

Teufel has launched the ULTIMA 25 AKTIV 2 active two-way bookshelf-speaker pair. The second-generation model went on sale in Germany on 20 August 2026 at €549.99 per pair. Its Class-D amplification delivers 2 × 50 W RMS across the stereo pair. The model succeeds the ULTIMA 25 AKTIV in Teufel’s active bookshelf-speaker line.

At high frequencies, the two-way design pairs a 25 mm tweeter with a waveguide. The mid/bass driver uses woven Kevlar and incorporates a phase plug. Dynamore Virtual Center processing is built into the ULTIMA 25 AKTIV 2. Teufel recommends the system for listening rooms measuring up to 30 m².

For television use, the system provides HDMI ARC with CEC and carries Dolby Digital certification. Other wired connections include a USB-C sound-card input and an AUX input. Bluetooth 5.0 supports Qualcomm aptX and AAC codecs for wireless audio playback. The speakers also integrate DAB+ and FM tuners for terrestrial radio reception.

The active system includes a dimmable OLED display. A touch slider is positioned on the top panel for direct control. A subwoofer can be added through the system’s wireless expansion capability. Surround rear speakers can connect through the same wireless expansion system.

The ULTIMA 25 AKTIV 2 uses cabinets made from FSC-certified wood. M6 mounting threads are incorporated into the cabinet design for installation. Teufel offers the complete pair in Night Black and Pure White finishes. The speakers were available immediately through Teufel’s German online store from 20 August 2026.
