Technics is introducing a new professional DJ turntable at the Amsterdam Dance Event on 21 October 2026. The Technics SL-1210MKX uses a coreless direct-drive motor and is scheduled to become available through selected Technics specialist dealers from January 2027, with a recommended retail price of €1,499.
The turntable has a rebalanced chassis designed to reduce susceptibility to external vibration. Newly developed isolation feet are intended to reduce acoustic feedback at high sound-pressure levels. These measures form part of the deck's mechanical design for professional DJ use.
Motor torque and braking speed are adjustable, providing control over the drive system's operation. A revised reset switch is intended to operate more quietly. The SL-1210MKX also adds pitch-adjustment ranges of ±4% and ±50%, alongside support for 78 rpm playback and reverse platter rotation.
The enclosure is finished in black and paired with a polished silver tonearm. The X in the model name stands for Extreme and Expert, reflecting the turntable's intended professional use.
The SL-1210MKX belongs to Technics' SL-1200 series, which began in 1972. The SL-1200MK2 followed in 1979.
