JBL introduced a new entry-level headset at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, on 26 August 2026. The JBL Quantum 120 is a wired gaming model with 50 mm carbon dynamic drivers. US presales opened that day at $49.95.
The headset supports Hi-Res Audio and has a specified headphone frequency response of 20 Hz to 40 kHz. Its impedance is 32 ohms, with a maximum input power of 30 mW. Connection is through a 3.5 mm plug on a 1.5-metre cable. Listed compatibility covers Windows PC, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android and gaming consoles.
The Quantum 120 supports JBL Quantum Spatial Sound and sound customization through JBL QuantumENGINE. The software allows users to create separate profiles for different games. It also provides a real-time visualizer that indicates the direction of in-game audio cues. QuantumENGINE feature availability depends on the connected platform.
Voice input uses a detachable 6 mm cardioid boom microphone with a specified frequency response of 50 Hz to 15 kHz. The microphone's specified sensitivity is -40 dBV/Pa at 1 kHz. QuantumENGINE provides adjustable microphone settings and additional microphone noise reduction.
The over-ear headset weighs 265 g and has a silicone headband and breathable fabric ear cushions. Its announced colour options are Black and Ice. Some of its plastic components use recycled materials. The packaging uses FSC-certified paper and is printed with soy-based ink.
