Steinway & Sons has introduced a new generation of its Model O loudspeaker. The entry-level Steinway & Sons Model O floorstander has two front-mounted midrange-bass drivers and is scheduled for availability at the end of November 2026. Pricing is on application.
The driver arrangement includes an Air Motion Transformer tweeter and a rear-mounted passive bass radiator. The speaker is tuned specifically for placement close to a wall. It uses Steinway's Integrated Systems Approach, with RoomPerfect calibration to adapt playback to the room.
Each Model O is assembled and finished by hand in Skive, Denmark, with cabinet customisation options including individual lacquers and wood veneers. The gold-coated tweeter eye is offered with either a matte or polished surface. Gold-coated rings around the front midrange drivers are available as an option.
The front of the cabinet carries 26 black strings, a design reference to Steinway's musical-instrument heritage. The new speaker follows the original Model O loudspeaker, which was introduced in 2018. Both generations take their name from Steinway's Model O piano, known as the Living Room Grand Piano.
