Dual has started series production of a new turntable. The Dual CS 718Q uses a brushless direct-drive motor with ironless coils and is scheduled for release in 2026.
Playback is started manually, with a switchable automatic-stop function and automatic tonearm lift at the end of a record. RCA and XLR sockets provide phono-level outputs. Speed control is quartz-stabilised, with settings for 33, 45 and 78 rpm and a specified wow-and-flutter limit below ±0.05% DIN WTD. The drive incorporates double shielding against magnetic interference.
The tonearm uses a carbon-aluminium sandwich tube with twin-gimbal mounting, and its height can be adjusted from −2 to +5 mm. A precision spiral spring sets dynamic tracking force over a 0–3 g range, while spring-based antiskating is continuously adjustable. The removable headshell provides azimuth adjustment, and the arm accepts cartridges weighing 3–13 g. Effective arm length is 221.5 mm, with a 25.6° offset angle and 19 mm overhang.
The die-cast aluminium platter measures 305 mm in diameter and has a rubber-coated underside. It weighs 2.2 kg with its 4-mm rubber mat. The platter bearing pairs a hardened-steel spindle with a brass bushing. The turntable has an MDF plinth and height-adjustable feet incorporating elastomer dampers.
The CS 718Q comes in satin black or natural walnut veneer and weighs 10 kg. It measures 435 × 367 × 155 mm with the dust cover closed; opening the cover increases depth to 415 mm and height to 405 mm.
