Castle launches four Tintagel and Walmer loudspeakers

Castle launched the UK-built Tintagel 1, Tintagel 2, Walmer 1 and Walmer 2 loudspeakers on 28 August 2026. The four models form its new Tintagel and Walmer ranges. Tintagel contains a two-way standmount and a floorstander. Walmer pairs a two-way standmount with a three-way floorstander.

Castle positions the Tintagel series as the accessible foundation of the new lineup. Tintagel 1 combines a 130mm advanced-fibre-cone bass driver with a 28mm silk-dome treble unit. Tintagel 2 uses two 150mm advanced-fibre-cone bass drivers and a 28mm silk-dome treble unit. Castle recommends amplifiers rated from 30W to 100W for Tintagel 1 and from 30W to 150W for Tintagel 2.

Walmer 1 uses a 130mm woven-carbon-fibre bass driver. Walmer 2 combines two 150mm woven-carbon-fibre bass drivers with a dedicated 115mm woven-carbon-fibre midrange unit. Both models use a 12 x 45mm true-ribbon treble driver. Castle recommends 25W to 100W for Walmer 1 and 25W to 150W for Walmer 2.

Tintagel 1 is rated at 86dB sensitivity and has a 55Hz-20kHz frequency response at ±3dB. Tintagel 2 is rated at 89dB sensitivity and has a 44Hz-20kHz frequency response at ±3dB. Walmer 1 is rated at 86dB sensitivity and has a 55Hz-20kHz frequency response at ±3dB. Walmer 2 is rated at 89dB sensitivity and has a 38Hz-20kHz frequency response at ±3dB.

Tintagel 1 measures 345 x 194 x (252+25)mm in height, width and depth including terminals, and weighs 7.3kg per speaker. Walmer 1 measures 334 x 210 x (220+30)mm on the same basis, and weighs 7.5kg per speaker. Tintagel 2 weighs 21kg per speaker, while Walmer 2 weighs 31kg per speaker. All four models are offered in walnut veneer or black oak veneer.
