Polish brand Virtual HiFi has launched the Supernova. The Virtual HiFi Supernova is a fully passive, three-way open-baffle loudspeaker with two 15-inch SB Audience woofers. It is priced at €20,000 per pair including VAT and worldwide delivery.
The dipole design pairs its bass drivers with a 7.5-inch SB Acoustics Satori TeXtreme midrange driver and a large, special-order Mundorf AMT high-frequency driver. The crossover uses components from Mundorf, Jantzen, Duelund and Clarity Cap. Specified frequency response is approximately 25Hz to 22kHz, with sensitivity of 90dB and nominal impedance of 4Ω.
The cabinet structure uses constrained-layer construction, with a 2mm elastomer layer between two 3mm steel layers. Each pair is built to order in Poland.
The Supernova was designed by Grzegorz Rulka, who is also the designer behind Cube Audio and Qualio. It began as his personal speaker project, with the aim of combining large-speaker scale and physical presence with openness and spatial presentation. The model follows earlier Virtual HiFi loudspeaker projects, including the Viper.
