Dynaudio is reissuing its Evidence Platinum in a final production run of ten pairs worldwide. The Dynaudio Evidence Platinum Collector’s Edition is a floorstanding loudspeaker built to the original 2012 construction plans.
The Collector’s Edition uses the original model’s materials and manufacturing processes. For this production run, Dynaudio reunited engineers and technicians who had worked on the original Evidence Platinum, drawing together members of the team involved in its earlier production.
The speaker uses a bass-reflex enclosure with four 18 cm MSP woofers in each cabinet. Two 15 cm MSP midrange drivers handle the midrange, while two 28 mm Esotar2 tweeters cover the high frequencies. Its three-way system uses filtering that makes it effectively a five-way design.
The crossover employs first-order filtering, with crossover frequencies of 290 Hz, 480 Hz, 2,200 Hz and 8,500 Hz. The design also incorporates Dynaudio’s DDC technology. The specified frequency range extends from 28 Hz to 25 kHz, and nominal impedance is 4 ohms. Sensitivity is specified at 89 dB.
Each speaker weighs 110 kg and measures 1,940 mm high, 390 mm wide and 510 mm deep, including its base. The cabinet has a black aluminium baffle.
