Topping has added the E50 II, a compact desktop DAC with preamp functionality in its E Series. The model uses an AKM AK4497S DAC chip and is listed by Topping Store at $199.00. It is in stock there with 24-48 hour shipping.
The E50 II uses an XMOS XU316 USB interface and Topping’s TopSync clocking architecture with JitterNull processing. It supports PCM playback up to 32-bit/768 kHz over USB and native DSD playback up to DSD512. The DAC is specified with up to 131 dB dynamic range and 0.0001% THD+N at 1 kHz.
The unit accepts USB-C, optical and coaxial digital inputs. Its optical input supports ADAT, extending the DAC beyond standard two-channel optical use. Output is handled through single-ended RCA and balanced TRS connections.
Bluetooth is built around Qualcomm QCC5125 hardware and supports LDAC codec playback. The E50 II also includes 10-band parametric EQ for system or room matching. The chassis measures 129 x 41 x 155 mm and is available in black, white and silver finishes.
