Sonoro has launched Multiroom for wired audio distribution throughout the home, alongside the new Sonoro Amplifier and Sonoro Streamer. The Sonoro Multiroom audio platform uses Audio-over-IP and supports up to 32 compatible audio systems, depending on network infrastructure. Owners of supported existing models can access the functionality through a free over-the-air update.
The platform accommodates up to 16 independently controlled zones, with separate source selection and volume control for each zone. It requires a local LAN with a multicast-capable router and supports offline local streaming. The system extends Sonoro's existing audio ecosystem to installations in homes, offices and commercial buildings.
Audio sources available at the main device can be distributed through the system. These include television audio delivered over HDMI, turntable audio, CD, radio and Apple AirPlay. The source-distribution function therefore covers both physical playback sources and audio received through AirPlay.
Control is available through the redesigned Sonoro Audio App for iOS and Android. The platform is also KNX-compatible and supports integration with JUNG Smart Visu Server, Gira X1, Gira HomeServer and Busch-free@home. These integrations connect the audio platform with smart-home control systems.
Compatible audio systems include the Sonoro Maestro Quantum Signature, Sonoro Maestro Quantum and Sonoro Atron. The Sonoro Meisterstück (Gen.2) also supports integration into Multiroom.
