Pro-Ject added the Stream Box E to its hi-fi ecosystem as an entry-level multi-room streamer and preamplifier. The WiiM OS unit streams up to 24-bit/192 kHz and carries a €179 MSRP including VAT. It was announced in April 2026.
The Stream Box E is designed to add network streaming and volume control to an existing system. It can be used with an integrated amplifier, a separate power amplifier or active speakers. Pro-Ject Home app control handles operation, and Pro-Ject True Wireless Sending and Receiving lets it share an analogue RCA input source across a compatible Pro-Ject multi-room network.
Connectivity covers dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, plus Bluetooth 5.0 with SBC and AAC codec support. The unit has stereo RCA analogue input and output sockets, and digital output is provided through optical S/PDIF Toslink. Pro-Ject specifies a nominal audio output level of 3 Vrms.
The published audio figures include 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response at -1.5 dB, channel separation greater than 106 dB at 10 kHz, line-output signal-to-noise ratio greater than 102 dB and line-output THD below 0.009%. The Stream Box E uses a metal chassis with an aluminium front panel. It is offered with silver or black front panels and uses an external 5 V/1000 mA DC power supply.
