B-100 CENTENNIAL

LUXMAN introduces B-100 CENTENNIAL mono power amplifier

The new flagship is a commemorative model for LUXMAN's 100th anniversary, celebrated in 2025. Its exterior shares the design language of the D-100 CENTENNIAL, while its analogue meter design pays homage to the B-10 power amplifier.

LUXMAN has introduced a new monaural power amplifier. The B-100 CENTENNIAL has a rated output of 125 W into 8 ohms or 250 W into 4 ohms, with an instantaneous maximum output of 1,000 W into 1 ohm.

The amplifier uses LIFES 1.1, a feedback circuit that feeds back distortion components detected from differences between the input and output signals. This version parallels the input stage of the differential error amplifier. Four output modules use three-stage Darlington, quadruple-parallel push-pull circuitry in a 4 × 4 output architecture. The amplifier operates in Class A up to 25 W into 8 ohms, switching to Class AB at higher outputs.

The power supply uses a 1,250 VA EI-core transformer wound with rectangular copper wire. The transformer sits on vibration-damping rubber within a dedicated shielded compartment. Sixteen 10,000 µF filter capacitors provide a total capacitance of 160,000 µF.

Connections include unbalanced RCA inputs and balanced Neutrik XLR inputs, with 7N Class D.U.C.C. conductors in the input signal path. The audio signal stages use 100 µm-thick, resist-free, gold-plated peel-coat circuit boards. Large-gauge conductors, a heavy-duty output coil and low-resistance speaker relays form part of the output signal path.

The enclosure has a Blasted White silver finish, an 18 mm-thick front panel and a 6 mm-thick hairline-finished top plate. Its loop-less chassis construction includes a dual-layer bottom combining 2.3 mm and 3.2 mm steel plates into a 5.5 mm structure. Soft white LEDs illuminate the front-panel needle meter. The amplifier measures 440 × 243 × 651 mm, width × height × depth, including 38 mm of rear-terminal depth, and weighs 61.5 kg.
