iFi audio launches UP Play Max Bluetooth transmitter
The compact transmitter adds Bluetooth codec options for iOS and Android source devices, with controls in the iFi Nexis app. Auracast broadcasting is scheduled for a post-launch firmware update.

iFi audio has introduced the UP Play Max, a compact Bluetooth transmitter for smartphones and other source devices. It supports aptX Lossless for CD-quality lossless Bluetooth transmission to compatible receiving devices. The transmitter is available through iFi audio and authorised dealers.
The UP Play Max is designed to expand Bluetooth codec compatibility for both iOS and Android devices. An aptX Adaptive low-latency mode for gaming and TV audio can be activated through the iFi Nexis app. The app also enables K2 processing and provides controls for paired devices and the active codec.
For shared listening, the transmitter can connect simultaneously to two pairs of headphones or earbuds using SBC. Auracast broadcasting to compatible headphones is scheduled to be added through a firmware update shortly after launch. The UP Play Max supports over-the-air firmware updates through Nexis.
A built-in microphone handles calls and in-game chat, with Qualcomm noise and echo suppression applied to microphone audio. This gives the transmitter a voice-input function alongside its Bluetooth audio transmission features.
