Hana has introduced its E Series Mk II moving-coil cartridges. The range comprises the low-output EL Mk II and high-output EH Mk II, both with nude elliptical synthetic-diamond styluses. US availability is scheduled for late September 2026, with UK availability from 23 September 2026.
Both cartridges use aluminium cantilevers and a precision-machined brass top plate with threaded mounting holes. Their bodies have an elastomeric coating, while the yoke, pole pieces and gold-plated terminal pins receive cryogenic treatment. Each cartridge weighs 8.6g.
The EL Mk II uses an Alnico generator and has an output of 0.4mV. Its coil impedance is 8Ω, and the recommended load impedance is above 80Ω. These are the electrical specifications for the low-output version of the new range.
The EH Mk II is designed for connection to a 47kΩ moving-magnet phono input. Its output is rated at 2mV at 1kHz, and its coil impedance is 130Ω. Musical Surroundings handles Hana's US distribution.
The two models share a specified frequency response of 15Hz to 25kHz and channel separation of 25dB at 1kHz. Both specify a tracking force of 2g, with trackability rated at 70µm at that recommended force.
