The new Momentum platform separates the standard C2 from the C2Z variant for systems using Momentum Z power amplifiers. An optional Digital Streaming Module brings network and digital-source integration to the analogue preamplifier design.

Dan D’Agostino Master Audio Systems has listed the Momentum C2 / C2Z Preamplifier, a two-chassis preamplifier platform in its Momentum range. The product launch covers the standard Momentum C2 and the Momentum C2Z, with the C2Z configured for use with Momentum Z power amplifiers.
The Momentum C2 uses a new architecture built around a complementary four-circuit topology inspired by the company’s Relentless Preamplifier. The C2 and C2Z share the same core design, features and operation, with the stated difference being the C2Z’s FET-based output stage, which is intended to deliver greater current to the Z input stage used in Momentum Z amplifiers.
The preamplifier uses a separate power-supply chassis with custom toroidal transformers for analogue and digital circuitry. An optional Digital Streaming Module can be fitted for digital and network sources, while the main unit also includes tone-control circuitry, a front-panel headphone output with independent amplifier circuitry, and a bidirectional remote control.
