Axign launches all-in-one Class-D amplifier modules
The Dutch audio-technology company is moving its post-filter-feedback amplifier work into module form for product integration. The launch matters for active loudspeakers, streaming amplifiers and portable systems where compact, efficient Class-D power is part of the design brief.

Axign has launched a new generation of all-in-one Class-D amplifier modules, with audioXpress reporting plug-and-play, high-efficiency designs that include 450W-rated versions. The Dutch company, now part of Monolithic Power Systems, is positioning the modules for compact audio systems where amplification, signal control and power density are closely linked.
The reported launch builds on Axign’s established Class-D control architecture. Axign’s own technology material describes a full-audio-bandwidth digital feedback loop taken from behind the output filters, an approach intended to address load-dependent behaviour in conventional Class-D amplifiers. Its current product pages also list AX5688 and AX5689 digital audio converter and amplifier controller ICs using post-filter feedback.
audioXpress reports that the new module generation combines predictive feedforward with post-filter feedback and uses MPS expertise in silicon and GaN power stages. The same report describes a flagship B&W Nautilus application using a 1.4kW wireless battery-powered streaming amplifier system with more than 10 hours of battery playtime.
