Andover Audio launches FreePlay portable hi-fi speaker
Andover Audio has launched FreePlay, a $429 stereo portable hi-fi speaker now available for pre-order. It is the Boston company’s first portable Bluetooth speaker. The IP67-rated model uses a front-firing stereo driver array and is scheduled to ship the week of 20 July 2026.

Andover Audio has launched FreePlay, a stereo portable hi-fi speaker priced at $429. The model is available for pre-order and is scheduled to ship the week of 20 July 2026. It moves the Boston company into portable Bluetooth speakers.
FreePlay uses a true front-firing stereo array built around two 5.25-inch aluminum-cone woofers and two 25mm dome tweeters. A rear passive radiator supports the low-frequency system. The battery is rated for more than 24 hours of playback at moderate listening levels.
The speaker supports Bluetooth LE 6.0 and Bluetooth LE Audio. It also includes a 3.5mm auxiliary analog line input and a 3.5mm microphone input. Wireless linking can connect up to 99 FreePlay units.
The outdoor brief is supported by an IP67 dustproof and waterproof rating. FreePlay also includes 45W USB-C bi-directional fast charging and a 5W wireless top-deck charging pad. The cabinet measures 10 inches by 13 inches by 6.5 inches, weighs 9 pounds, and is offered in Ivory, Slate, and Olive finishes.
