T+A launches A 3100 HV power amplifier for HV series

T+A has launched the A 3100 HV, a stereo power amplifier for its HV series. The new model is rated at 300W per channel into 8 ohms and 500W per channel into 4 ohms in stereo mode. US pricing is US$29,900.

The A 3100 HV succeeds the A 3000 HV in T+A's stereo power-amplifier line. It incorporates more than 270 targeted optimizations over the previous architecture and uses T+A's HV technology. The amplifier can also be configured for mono operation.

High Current mode is rated for up to 75W in pure Class A operation. The amplifier uses a newly designed 1000W toroidal transformer and twelve new low-ESR capacitors for energy storage. Its specified frequency response is 0.5Hz to 180kHz at +0/-3dB, with signal-to-noise ratio above 115dB and THD below 0.03%.

The A 3100 HV requires a pre-amplifier for system use and includes a trigger input for remote switching. The chassis measures 17 x 46 x 46 cm and weighs 38 kg. T+A offers the amplifier in silver and titanium housing finishes.
