QED expands Performance range with speaker and USB cables

QED has revised its Performance cable line-up for analogue and digital connections in hi-fi and AV systems. Development draws on the company's Genesis Report research into cable construction. The range's new visual design is also intended to influence future Reference and Signature updates.

QED has expanded its Performance cable range with a new speaker cable, matching bi-wire links and USB audio cables. The 13-model QED Performance range was available in the UK and Europe as of 1 October 2026, with US availability planned for late November 2026.

The Performance Speaker Cable has a conductor cross-sectional area of 2.5mm² and uses QED's X-Tube Plus technology. It has an LDPE outer jacket and factory-fitted Airloc terminations. Across the Performance range, conductors use 99.999% oxygen-free copper, with 24K gold-plated contacts specified for non-USB models.

The Performance Audio interconnect provides a phono-to-phono connection and is designed to complement the speaker cable. Its construction combines Solid Complementary Conductor Technology with shielding and Ferrite Insulation Technology. Other analogue connection options in the range include 3.5mm-to-3.5mm and 3.5mm-to-phono cables, alongside dedicated subwoofer cables.

The USB audio cables come in A-to-B, A-to-C, C-to-C and C-to-B configurations. These models use nickel-plated connectors and carry independent USB-IF compliance certification. The wider Performance line-up also includes optical, Ethernet and digital audio cables.

Most models use a flexible TPE outer jacket, while the range adopts silver-grey connectors. Revised packaging replaces plastic with recyclable paper-based materials where possible. The Performance range complies with RoHS and REACH requirements.
