Lyssna Acoustics debuts expandable Modular Monitor speaker

Lyssna Acoustics has introduced an expandable loudspeaker at Dutch Audio Event 2026 in Veldhoven. The Lyssna Modular Monitor is a compact passive two-way model, with a Kickstarter early-bird price of €2,100 per pair. Delivery of campaign rewards is estimated for March 2027.

Adding the optional Lyssna Modular Bass Module converts the monitor into a three-way floorstanding system while retaining the original speaker. The two sections connect through the monitor's underside without additional cabling. The bass module uses a 7.5-inch woofer and a matching 7.5-inch passive radiator, with a specified frequency range of 32–250 Hz. It takes over low-frequency duties, allowing the monitor's smaller driver to concentrate on the midrange.

The monitor uses a 4.5-inch bass-mid driver, with a crossover design that prioritises its coverage of the critical midrange. Its cabinet measures 290 × 160 × 280 mm (H × W × D) and is handmade in Europe. The monitor is offered in Graphite, Petrol, Ultramarine and Cream matte finishes, with the bass module available in the same four colours. Lyssna measured the speakers in a small, professionally treated studio rather than an anechoic chamber.

The Kickstarter campaign has a €65,000 funding goal to support the first large production run while maintaining the company's independence from outside investors. An early-bird bundle pairing the monitors with a pair of Graphite Lyssna Stands costs €2,460. A pair of monitors bundled with a pair of Lyssna Modular Bass Modules has an early-bird reward price of €4,560.

Ruud Moerman and Kobus Oomen founded Lyssna Acoustics after meeting through Moerman's specialist hi-fi store, Omera. The founders spent two and a half years developing the modular system. The monitor is a finished product ahead of the production run funded by the campaign.
