Buchardt Audio has introduced an MK2 Upgrade Kit for owners of its A500, A500 SE, A700, A700 LE and Anniversary 10 active speakers. The replacement electronics are designed for installation at home with standard tools, allowing owners to update their speakers without replacing the cabinets.
The kit adds Buchardt's current digital Class-D amplifier platform, rated at four times 250 watts RMS per speaker, together with a 600-watt power supply. Its DSP runs at 96 kHz/32-bit and supports room correction, user-adjustable PEQ and wireless management of Mastertunings through the Buchardt app.
Buchardt lists the kit at EUR 1,500 and says shipping starts in October. Selected models also receive the company's RFA19 tweeter, while the Anniversary 10 and A700 Limited Edition already use that driver.
