Bowers & Wilkins launches 801 D5 flagship speaker

Bowers & Wilkins introduced the 801 D5 at High End Vienna 2026 as the flagship model in the 800 Series Diamond D5 range. The reference tower loudspeaker is priced at $65,000 per pair in the United States. It uses a Diamond dome tweeter, Continuum cone FST midrange driver and twin 250mm Aerofoil bass drivers.

Bowers & Wilkins introduced the 801 D5 as its flagship reference tower loudspeaker at High End Vienna 2026. The 801 D5 leads the 800 Series Diamond D5 range and is priced at $65,000 per pair in the United States. It is a 3-way vented-box design built around the brand's Diamond dome tweeter and Continuum cone FST midrange driver.

The bass system uses two 250mm Aerofoil drivers. The cabinet structure includes Matrix bracing and aluminium Space Frame Bracing. The speaker has a nominal impedance of 8 ohms and a sensitivity rating of 90dB.

The 801 D5 measures 1221mm high including its tweeter and plinth. Net weight is 106.4kg per speaker. Finish options are Stealth Black, Warm White, Light Walnut and Dark Walnut.

The wider 800 Series Diamond D5 lineup includes the 801 D5, 802 D5, 803 D5, 804 D5, 805 D5 and matching centre-channel models. The 801 model line dates back to 1979. The new 801 D5 sits at the top of the range following its High End Vienna 2026 introduction.
