ACTIVO has launched a remote for controlling digital media playback. The ACTIVO BR01 uses Bluetooth 5.3 and is compatible with the company's players, Astell&Kern players, smartphones, tablets and laptops. It is available through ACTIVO UK, Amazon and US stockists, with announced retail prices of £49 in the UK and US$50 in the US.
The remote is designed to complement docked digital audio players, allowing playback control while the player remains connected to an amplifier or headphones. It stores pairing information for up to three devices, allowing users to switch between them without repeating the pairing process. Playback operates through the paired device's standard media controls, covering streaming services, podcasts, audiobooks and video. The available functions vary with the connected device and app.
A knurled aluminium wheel handles volume adjustment, while a four-way pad provides play/pause, next-track, previous-track and mute controls. Separate buttons cover screen on/off, home and back functions. The power switch and a dedicated Bluetooth pairing button sit on the edge of the remote.
The BR01's 210mAh battery is rated for more than 90 hours of continuous use. Charging takes approximately two hours through a USB-C connection. The remote automatically powers down after 30 minutes of inactivity.
The housing is made from ABS and comes in an Anthracite Black finish. It measures 36.7mm wide, 102.7mm high and 17.9mm deep, with an approximate weight of 44.5g.
