Planar PL-1 and Planar PL-2
REL launches Planar PL-1 and PL-2 wall subwoofers
The Planar range gives REL a flatter cabinet format for wall-mounted, near-wall or cart-based bass systems. It extends the company’s subwoofer line into installations where a conventional floor cabinet may be harder to place.

REL Acoustics has introduced the Planar PL-1 and Planar PL-2, two powered subwoofers designed for wall-mounted or near-wall use. The launch gives REL a dedicated slim-format line for systems where a conventional floor-box subwoofer may be harder to accommodate.
Planar is REL’s first subwoofer line with built-in wireless, using Airship Direct Wireless. Both models can be wall mounted or used close to a wall, and the optional Planar Cart converts either unit to a floor-standing position.
The smaller PL-1 and larger PL-2 use different driver layouts but share the same installation approach and input set. REL lists Gloss Piano Black and Gloss White Lacquer finishes, with cloth grille and premium wood grille options for the range.

The Planar PL-1 is priced at $2,499 and the Planar PL-2 is priced at $3,299 on REL’s official site. US orders for the PL-1, PL-2 and Planar Cart ship the week of June 8, 2026, with UK orders shipping the week of June 29, 2026. The Planar Cart is priced at $299.
