Linn updates 360 speakers with Pistonik driver upgrade

The hardware update brings Linn-developed low-frequency drive units to current 360 production and gives existing owners a factory-supported retrofit path. It keeps the 360 platform current without requiring a full loudspeaker replacement.

Georg S. Kuklick

Linn has updated the 360 loudspeaker with Pistonik low-frequency drive units that are now standard on current production and available as a retrofit for earlier pairs. The change is a hardware update to the company’s flagship loudspeaker platform, giving existing 360 owners an upgrade route rather than requiring a replacement pair.

Pistonik was introduced in April 2026. The drive units are used on 360 Exakt Integrated and 360 Passive With Active Bass loudspeakers from that point, and are available as an upgrade for earlier versions of both models.

Linn frames the change around low-frequency linearity and distortion control. The company’s technical material also ties the new units into its Exakt profiling process, with measurement data used to generate a dedicated correction profile for each relevant drive unit.
