HiFiMAN launches HE6 Remastered planar headphone

HiFiMAN has added the HE6 Remastered to its official headphone lineup as a wired open-back planar magnetic model. The HE6 Remastered is priced at $1,899. Pre-order shipping is quoted at 1-2 weeks.

The central engineering point is the return of the classic 4-screw HE6 driver. The HE6 Remastered retains the original HE6 driver design within an open-back architecture. It also uses a composite headband, replacing the older headband design described in launch coverage.

The published audio specifications place the HE6 Remastered in demanding headphone territory. It has a nominal impedance of 50 ohms and a sensitivity rating of 83.5dB. Frequency response is rated at 8Hz-65kHz.

The headphone weighs 522 grams and uses 3.5mm cable connectors. Its HE6-family context matters because the original HE6 launched in 2010 and became associated with low sensitivity and unusually capable amplification requirements.
