Focal launches Scala Utopia Evo M floorstanding speaker

Focal introduced the Scala Utopia Evo M as a new 3-way floorstanding hi-fi loudspeaker. The model was unveiled on 2 July 2026 and is scheduled for availability beginning August 2026. Its official recommended retail price is EUR 40,000 or USD 46,000 per pair in lacquered finish.

The speaker combines a PRISM tweeter with an M-profile W midrange driver and a redesigned W woofer. It also uses OPC+ crossover technology, Focus Time driver-alignment technology and Focal's Gamma Structure cabinet approach. The PRISM tweeter had recently appeared on the Diva Alta Utopia before its use in the Scala Utopia Evo M.

Dealer specification data lists frequency response at 27 Hz to 40 kHz and sensitivity at 92 dB at 2.83 V/1 m. The same data gives crossover frequencies of 230 Hz and 2,800 Hz. The speaker has four insulated WBT connectors and supports possible bi-amping or bi-wiring.

The Scala Utopia Evo M is designed and manufactured in France. Its cabinet is made by Focal cabinetmakers in Burgundy, and its drivers are made in Focal's Saint-Étienne workshops. The model continues the Scala branch of Focal's Utopia line and succeeds the Scala Utopia Evo.

Finish options are Black High Gloss, Off White High Gloss, Warm Taupe High Gloss, Light Walnut with Off White front panel, and Dark Walnut with Sepia Brown front panel. Focal presents the speaker as a natural partner for Naim amplification and streaming systems. Availability is scheduled to begin in August 2026.
