Genelec has released Aural ID Application 2.1, an update to its binaural headphone monitoring software for professional audio users. The release changes how users manage profiles and setups, brings key controls closer to the main working view, and refines head-tracking and virtual-monitor configuration.
Aural ID is part of Genelec’s UNIO monitoring ecosystem and is intended to help users work between studio loudspeaker monitoring and headphone-based production. The application is aimed at stereo and immersive workflows, with binaural monitoring based on user or generic profile data.
The 2.1 update separates Aural ID profiles and user setups into different folders, so personal profile data and session configurations can be managed independently. It also adds confirmation workflows on settings pages, enhanced bypass functions, and improved responsiveness across the interface, profile loading and audio processing.

Genelec lists annual subscription pricing at €50 per year and a perpetual licence at €375. The subscription includes annual access to the application, generic KEMAR and KU100 profiles, Aural ID Head Tracker and software updates during the subscription; the perpetual licence includes access to Aural ID Application 2.x, Aural ID Head Tracker, version 2.x updates, a unique Aural ID profile and a personal SOFA file.
