The converter moves the British digital-audio specialist into multichannel playback after a product line centred on stereo. Its first public demonstration is scheduled with Trinnov, Perlisten and Audio Reference at High End Vienna 2026.
dCS has announced the MCD 16, its first multichannel digital-to-analogue converter. The product is scheduled to make its public debut at High End Vienna 2026, where it will appear in a demonstration system created with Trinnov Audio and Perlisten Audio, courtesy of German distributor Audio Reference GmbH.
The launch gives dCS a dedicated multichannel product alongside a home-audio range previously centred on stereo playback. The MCD 16 uses the company’s Ring DAC architecture in a product designed to provide multiple channels of digital-to-analogue conversion from a single unit.
The Vienna system is being organised by Audio Reference and is described by the submitted source as a 13.8.8 immersive audio setup. Daily listening sessions are scheduled to include material presented by producer Justin Gray from his album Immersed.
