Shanling launches SM1.3R HD network player with 2K screen

Shanling has launched a network music player with a 2K display. The Shanling SM1.3R HD combines a streamer, DAC and headphone amplifier, with a 5.98-inch screen offering 2560 × 1440 resolution. It went on sale in China on 8 October 2026.

The player uses Shanling's in-house discrete R2R DAC architecture and supports native playback up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and DSD512 via USB. Its other digital connections support native PCM playback up to 24-bit/192kHz. The power supply design incorporates two 31W toroidal transformers, with separate supplies for the digital and analogue sections. Dual high-precision clocks are also part of the design.

The Android-based platform runs on an RK processor designed for digital music playback, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. An M.2 SSD expansion slot provides an additional storage option. Supported services include Tidal, Qobuz, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Spotify, alongside Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect. The player is Roon Ready and supports DLNA and AirPlay 2.

Network connections are available through dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and wired Ethernet. Bluetooth streaming supports LDAC, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive codecs. Coaxial, optical and USB inputs provide connections for digital sources. The player also has digital outputs for connection to an external DAC.

RCA line-level and balanced XLR analogue outputs provide connections to an audio system. For headphone listening, the SM1.3R HD has a 6.3mm socket and an amplifier with selectable gain. Its aluminium casework comes in black and silver finishes, with on-unit buttons providing physical controls.
