REL launches Planar PL-1 and PL-2 on-wall subs
The new Planar line puts REL’s subwoofer engineering into cabinets intended for near-wall or on-wall placement. It targets rooms where conventional floor-standing subwoofers are difficult to place, while keeping wireless operation built into both models.

REL Acoustics has launched the Planar PL-1 and Planar PL-2, a new pair of subwoofers designed for near-wall or on-wall placement. The launch gives REL a dedicated Planar line for installations where a conventional subwoofer cabinet may not suit the room layout.
The two models share the same placement concept but use different driver and amplifier arrangements. Both include built-in Airship Direct wireless, and both are listed with optional Planar Cart configurations for users who want floor placement rather than wall or near-wall installation.
The PL-1 is the smaller model in the range, while the PL-2 is positioned above it with a larger active driver and higher amplifier output. REL lists in-room low-frequency extension figures for both models, giving dealers and buyers a clearer view of how the two versions separate within the new line.
