iFi Audio has introduced the iDSD GR 2 as its next portable DAC/headphone amp. The $529 model is available for preorder and is listed to ship by 6 July 2026, with the product positioned as the successor to the xDSD Gryphon.
The iDSD GR 2 uses a Burr-Brown PCM1795 DAC chipset, which iFi identifies as its first DAC implementation using that part. The portable unit is rated at up to 1,513mW RMS output, a figure described in the launch evidence as 50 percent more headphone drive than the xDSD Gryphon.
Wireless support is built around Bluetooth 5.4, with aptX Lossless and LDAC included among the codec options. The GR 2 also includes JVCKENWOOD K2HD Technology and K2 processing, bringing that processing path into iFi's new portable DAC/amp.
Control is handled through a capacitive colour OLED touchscreen interface. Secondary launch coverage also lists broader launch pricing of £529, $529 USD, €549 and $799 CAD, while the official product page gives the $529 preorder price and shipping timing.
