Luxman readies D-100 CENTENNIAL SACD/CD player

Luxman is preparing the D-100 CENTENNIAL SACD/CD player and DAC as part of its centenary product series. The disc player uses the company’s LxDTM-i transport, a dual-mono DAC stage with ROHM BD34302EKV chips, and carries EU pricing of €19,999.

The D-100 CENTENNIAL follows Luxman’s D-10X and is built around a reworked transport assembly. The LxDTM-i mechanism bolts directly to the main chassis through an 8mm-thick aluminium base plate, with the design aimed at improving rigidity and isolation from vibration.

Luxman’s LIFES feedback engine has also been revised for the model. The topology is described as applying negative feedback only to error signals rather than the music signal, while version 1.1 adds a parallelised input stage for error-detection precision.

Analogue outputs are provided through Luxman RCA terminals and Neutrik XLR connectors. The DAC section can also be used with external sources through two TOSLINK inputs, coaxial input and USB, with USB support for PCM up to 768kHz/32-bit and DSD up to 22.5MHz. TOSLINK and coaxial digital outputs are included for use with an external DAC.

The player has an OLED display around 70% larger than the display used on the D-10X, with a 4x zoom mode and a four-step dimmer. The chassis is finished in Luxman’s Blaster White with a glossy chrome nameplate and sits on cast-iron density-gradient insulator legs. US pricing is TBC.
