Exposure Electronics has introduced the 5510 Pre-Amplifier as its new flagship preamplifier. The dedicated preamplifier sits in the company’s 5510 Series and is intended as the control centre of a separates hi-fi system before the power-amplifier stage. It is available now and priced at £3,500 in the UK.
The 5510 Pre-Amplifier uses a modular design for optional phono or DAC expansion. It provides six line inputs as standard and can accept MM, MC or DS Audio phono modules. A plug-in DAC module is also available, adding BNC and optical inputs.
Exposure has built the preamplifier around a custom-wound toroidal transformer with integrated hum shielding. Volume control is handled by a 99-step relay-controlled system. The unit provides both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs.
The chassis is made from solid aluminium and the 5510 Pre-Amplifier is available in black. Optional module prices are £420 for the MM/MC phono board, £500 for the DS Audio phono board and £650 for the DAC board.
