Rotel launches Amora 5 passive stand-mount loudspeaker

Rotel has announced the Amora 5, a passive stand-mount loudspeaker. The launch marks the company's return to passive speaker production after an absence of more than 25 years. Pricing is set at $999, €999 or £999 for a pair of speakers. The new model uses a two-way bass-reflex acoustic design.

The high-frequency section is built around a 25 mm tweeter using a silk-dome diaphragm. A 165 mm woven-fiber composite driver handles both the midrange and bass regions. The crossover between those two drive units operates at 2.5 kHz. The drivers sit in an MDF enclosure that uses a rear-mounted reflex port for low-frequency loading.

The specified frequency response extends from 48 Hz at the lower limit to 28 kHz at the upper limit. Sensitivity is specified at 87 dB with a 2.83 V input measured at a distance of one metre. The loudspeaker carries a nominal impedance rating of 8 ohms. Recommended amplifier power spans 30 W to 120 W.

Connection to an amplifier is provided through dual gold-plated speaker terminals. The terminal configuration accommodates either conventional single-wire hookup or a bi-wire speaker-cable arrangement. Each enclosure measures 350 mm in height, 190 mm in width and 300 mm in depth. The Amora 5 has a stated net weight of 7.7 kg.

Rotel will offer the cabinet in a choice of Matte Black or Matte White finish. Availability in the US, Europe and UK is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.
