What Hi-Fi?

VerVent Audio now sits under Barco, bringing Naim and Focal into a wider audiovisual group.

Barco has completed its acquisition of VerVent Audio. The company owns the hi-fi brands Naim and Focal, which now sit under Barco as their new parent. Barco is active in projection, visualisation and immersive experience systems for professional and residential environments.

The deal follows earlier takeover news around VerVent Audio and is now complete. Its stated aim is to build a European audiovisual solutions group serving both professional and home markets.

Naim and Focal were founded independently in the 1970s and joined forces in 2011 under VerVent Audio. The acquisition places both brands inside a company with a broader audiovisual systems business beyond hi-fi and home cinema products.
