The Class D amplifier is rated at 250W into 4ohm and is due in Japan in mid-December 2025.
Technical Audio Devices Laboratories has launched the TAD-A1000, the first integrated amplifier under the TAD brand. The analogue integrated amplifier joins TAD’s Evolution Series and is rated at 250W into 4ohm at 1kHz. In Japan, release is scheduled for mid-December 2025.
The silver TAD-A1000-S is listed in Japan at ¥2,800,000 before tax, or ¥3,080,000 including tax. A black TAD-A1000-K version is listed as a build-to-order model at ¥2,850,000 before tax, or ¥3,135,000 including tax.
The A1000 uses a Class D power stage with a BTL balanced output architecture. Its preamplifier section uses a single-stage current-feedback circuit derived from TAD Reference Series technology, while the power supply uses four custom 33,000µF smoothing capacitors.
Input provision is analogue-only, with four balanced XLR line inputs and two unbalanced RCA line inputs. Official Japanese specifications list frequency response at 10Hz to 50kHz, signal-to-noise ratio at at least 100dB, dimensions of 440x200x553mm and weight of 29kg.
TAD’s English A1000 product page positions the amplifier within the Evolution range, below the Reference Series. Hi-Fi News lists a UK price of £27,995 for the TAD A1000, while Fidelity Magazine gives a European MSRP of €26,000 including VAT and says the amplifier is available through authorised specialist retailers.
